Service Star Awards

The Service Star Awards was handed out during the Annual Airport Reception by Transport Minister Mr Raymond Lim. A total of 20 awards were handed out by Mr Lim, to commend exemplary service by airport staff. As Mr Lim mentioned, "Amid the tough economic climate, excellent customer service is key to retaining a competitive edge."

For those of you who do not subscribe to the Straits Times, here is a screen capture of the article that was published on 03/02/2009.

Three of the award recipients were featured in the article and from what was written, it is obvious that these three award winners truly believe that customer service is an important aspect of all businesses and should not be seen as an afterthought. One thing the three interviewed winners had in common was that they wanted to see customers be happy. This is one of the true spirits of good customer service.

The winners featured in the article all made it a point to go the extra mile, something I have noticed many in the service industry do not bother with.

Well done to all the winners!
